I caused myself to rethink what ‘the perfect couple’ looks like.
In a wedding season dominated by fairytale ideals and picture-perfect pairs, we led PNJ in the opposite direction—towards what love really looks like. “True Love” was a bold storytelling campaign that celebrated authentic, unconventional love stories often overlooked in mainstream media. From a transgender couple, to a senior couple with a 35-year age gap, to a duo overcoming health and societal expectations—the film honored love that defies prejudice and the “halo effect” of beauty, status, or age.
With real people, raw emotions, and no sugarcoating, the short film struck a powerful chord with the public—garnering over 4 million views within days and becoming a heartwarming symbol of empathy and inclusion during the 2019 wedding season.
